Background; Joseph Adamonis was born in Marlin, Pennsylvanian in 1922. It can be imagined that he spent most of his childhood life in PA, although he would move and be drafted in New Jersey. Right before entering the war he lived in a town called Camden, New Jersey. Here he lived with his sister Eva Barowsky and his brother Frederick Adamonis lived with them as well.
New Jersey's War Efforts; Still having effects from the depression in the previous years New Jersey decided to turn their industry focuses towards the war efforts. There was a company they name Curtiss-Wright Corporation that would build about 139,000 aircraft engines, being the largest amount within the country. Shipbuilders in Camden(Where Joseph lived and worked for Shipbuilders) and in Kearny would build navy supplies and ended up making 1/4 of all destroyers delivered to the navy. Over 8,000 ships would be sent to New Jersey for repairing. About 1 million workers(Including Joseph before getting drafted) worked for war related industries within the state. About $12 billion of product would come from this state making it the 5th highest amount out of the whole country. About 1.3 million soldiers would train and come from Fort Dix located in New Jersey.

The image below shows Camden, New Jersey. Where Joseph was enlisted from
Both pictures are of men who were training in Atlantic City before going off to war.
This is a location in Camden, New Jersey called New York shipbuilding company. During the war it would employ 47,000 people. This would have been close to what Joseph Adamonis would have been working for before being drafted. It is also in his home town meaning he may have even worked at this Shipbuilding company.
